Last week was good news for UK travellers, as several airlines announced new international flight routes. London, Birmingham and Southampton are the cities that now have new connections, but further routes are set to be launched from other hubs.
NEW DESTINATIONS AVAILABLE:
Shenzhen Airlines have opened their first long-haul route connecting London Heathrow with Shenzhen, in China’s southeast. Flights are scheduled to begin on 30th October, and will operate 3 times a week. The A330 that will cover the route will depart Heathrow at 21:40, whilst the return flight from Shenzhen has its departure set at 14:10.
Wizz Air have been the most active, with no less than 5 new routes planned for this winter. The Hungarian airline will connect Birmingham to Cluj as from 16th December twice a week, with early morning departures both ways.
Luton Airport will see up to 4 new Wizz Air routes: Eliat (Israel), Grenoble, Tromso and Verona. Definitely 4 exciting destinations for anyone looking for something different. All 4 routes will have 2 flights a week, departing Luton in the early afternoon.
Perhaps one of the most awaited announcements has finally come: Southampton Airport will have a direct flight to Skiathos, which will operate weekly on Tuesdays. The service will operate this summer, until 2nd October. FlyLolo is the virtual carrier for this route, although it will be flown by a Flybe E195.
