Extra day tour – Pyramiden

053cc357045657.59c67fc6cdc05

Named after a pyramid-shaped mountain nearby, Pyramiden was sold to the Soviet Union in 1927 and was for many years an established mining community. It is now a creepy ghost town, reachable in the summer by boat and in the winter by snowmobile. It boasts untouched Soviet era architecture, grass imported from Siberia and the occasional arctic fox.
